Freeze Out Hillclimb
June 28 - June 29

The first Freezeout Hillclimb was run in 1966 and has run every year since making it one of the oldest running hillclimbs in the nation.
When the new highway was carved out of the mountain with the intention the old highway would no longer be used on a regular basis, Doc Holverson of Emmett, Idaho, a member of the Southwestern Idaho Sports Car Club, campaigned for a hillclimb on the old highway. Obviously he was very successful. Of course at that time there were few homes on the hill but time has changed that and now dozens of homes line the course. The residents have been very gracious in allowing us to disturb their peace and quiet for one weekend a year.
Hosting Club: Fast Friends of Freezeout
Where to Stay:
Hotels: There is one motel in Emmett, the Holiday Motel and RV park at 1111 S Washington Ave, Emmett, ID 83617, 208-365-4479. It is a small motel and books up fast so if you want to stay at the motel, book early.
Camping: There is also a RV park and the fairgrounds which is at the bottom of the hill.
